Cisco has just announced a business-aimed Android touchscreen tablet like the iPad called the Cisco Cius (as in “see us”) to help your employees stay connected to their work, increase productivity and reduce costs.
This lightweight portable business computing tablet will offer Full Cisco telepresence interoperability, HD video (720p) streaming, real-time video, multi-party conferencing, Wi-Fi, 3G/ 4G data, Bluetooth 3.0, HD Soundstation equipped with a telephone handset speakerphone, HD DisplayPort , USB ports plus all the regular tablet functions like messaging, email, and browsing.
Cisco Cius also features built in Cisco AnyConnect VPN, Cisco WebEx Connect, Cisco Presence, Cisco Quad, Cisco Show, IM, 5MP rear-facing camera transmits streaming VGA video, 8 hours of battery life, accelerometer for viewing in landscape or portrait mode,
We're not sure about the size of the device yet, but we do know that it's going to weigh in at 1.15lbs, so it can't be terrifically large.
There's no word on pricing yet, but expect to be available in the first quarter of 2011.
